Join Ruby Wax in a guided meditation with Penguin Live and Embassy Gardens
The comedian and mental health campaigner is hosting the meditation on Thursday 7 May
To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, which starts on 18 May, comedian and mental health campaigner Ruby Wax is hosting a free guided meditation session in partnership with Penguin Live and Embassy Gardens on Thursday 07 May at 7pm.
Wax, who is the best-selling author of A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled and promoting her new book How do you Want me, will guide participants through an “epic meditation” that aims to ease anxiety and help participants feel more centred during the challenges of lockdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event is part of Nine Elms regeneration project Embassy Gardens’ virtual book ventures, in collaboration with Penguin Live, which includes a Virtual Book Club and Resident Short Story Competition designed to help those looking to relax, and is also designed celebrate publishing house Penguin Random House, whose HQ will move to One Embassy Gardens later this year. >>
The partnership’s Virtual Book Club will launch on 25 May, featuring a series of uplifting and engaging adio or eBooks from the publishing house – including Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell and Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo. A book club will then be hosted on a Sunday afternoon followed by a live discussion chaired by Hannah MacInnes, a regular host and moderator for the How To Academy and host on London’s Talk Radio.
The riverside Embassy Gardens development in Nine Elms will also become the home to Penguin’s sister-company DK and Apple’s UK headquarters, serviced by a London Underground Northern Line extension creating two new stations at Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station to become a cultural and media hub within the area.
