With its private members den and 120-cover restaurants below, M Wine Store in London's Victoria is already a go-to destination for fine wine enthusiasts keen to sample boutique wines over dinner. But now the venue and boutique has expanded with a wine-tasting bar offering the largest collection of wines by the glass in London.

Dominating the entrance to the store and above M Victoria Street restaurant, the wine bar offers 112 wines including 22 M exclusives – including their own Malbec by Susanna Balbo – and 48 wines available by Coravin technology, which allows wine to be poured without pulling the cork, ensuring the quality and preservation of corked wines. Upstairs, guests can help themselves to 40 rare wines via the electronic Enomotion dispensing machine.

"We want to offer something different – that's the key to M. In all three of our locations, we know our customers and guests and know they are as enthusiastic about wine as we are," Andre Maninni, M operations director, told Tempus at the wine bar's launch on Wednesday 29 November. >>

"Guests can have a tasting ranging all the way to £130 for a sample of 2005 Petrus," For something different, we also offer two wines on tap which utilises Key Keg technology, something that M Restaurants pioneered here in the UK,” he continued. The wine list is curated by sommelier Lenart Cernelic.

To mark the launch, M will be hosting wine tasting events for 20 guests between 5pm–7pm every Friday, examining eight wines themed by countries M specialises in – Argentina, Australia, France, Italy, South Africa and USA – as well as offering personalised engraving on purchases. The brand also has venues in Threadneedle Street and the newly opened M Bar & Grill in Twickenham, the first of M's neighbourhood concept boutique restaurant.
