Ulysse Nardin unveils limited edition Diver Atoll timepiece

The Ulysse Nardin Diver Atoll watch is limited to just 100 pieces and invites the wearer to explore the ocean’s ‘mythical allure’

Ulysse Nardin Diver AtollLuxury watch brand Ulysse Nardin is known for creating some of the most innovative and boundary pushing timepieces in the business. And with the release of its new limited edition Diver Atoll, that quest continues.

Limited to just 100 pieces, the Ulysse Nardin Diver Atoll features a stone-cut dial of chrysocolla. This gemstone is a kaleidoscope of striking blues and turquoises accented with swirls of earthy browns and blacks. And thanks to the stone’s inimitable patterning, each hand-cut dial is unique, ensuring that every watch tells its own, distinctive story.

Chrysocolla has been used for jewellery and decorative objects since antiquity, and is traditionally associated with themes around communication, understanding, and harmony.Ulysse Nardin Diver AtollThe watch is a way to celebrate the “boundless spirit of adventure” and focuses on sustainability as the Diver Atoll’s stainless-steel case — with polished and satin-brushed finishes — features 80% recycled steel.

The case back is also made out of 80% recycled stainless steel and features an engraved wind rose.

The unidirectional rotating bezel is set with 40 diamonds, while a further 11 diamonds adorn the hour indexes. The watch is water resistant down to 300 metres and is powered by the automatic movement UN-816, which features Ulysse Nardin’s silicon escapement technology. This technology was first introduced in 2001 with the launch of the brand’s Freak timepiece. This watch is just another addition to Ulysse Nardin’s innovative legacy and its founder’s passion for ocean exploration. After all, this is a brand known for manufacturing highly accurate marine chronometers.

Ulysse Nardin has also never been afraid to think outside the box, as is evident with the release of Freak — the world’s first and only watch with no dial, no crown and no hands — in 2001.

With the new Ulysse Nardin Diver Atoll, the luxury brand has added yet another horological masterpiece to its already stellar repertoire.
