Test out two stunning new bars at The Dorchester

After announcing that it would be undergoing an extensive renovation at the end of 2021, The Dorchester has now unveiled its eagerly awaited ground floor, including a complete revamp and rename of its original bar, now called Vesper Bar, as well as a second new space, Artists' Bar. Living up to its name, the glamorous interiors of the latter, designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon and featuring a dramatic mirrored ceiling, are flanked with striking works of art that celebrate London, and taking centre stage is Liberace's legendary mirrored piano, which has been restored to its former glory.

Cocktails at Artists Bar come with a touch of theatre, mixed tableside on a bar trolley, and Champagne lovers will be impressed with its extensive selection. A complete change of pace, Vesper Bar, designed by Martin Brudnizki and led by head bartender Lucia Montanelli, is a 30s inspired drinking den with an atmosphere to match. Named in honour of the hotel's many connections with James Bond, its take on the classic Vesper Martini is a must try as is its delicious menu of bar bites.

A tribute to 1957 novel and love story, The World of Suzie Wong, the eccentric venue, complete with concealed outdoor terrace, continues the tale by introducing us to its namesake, Lucy Wong – a London socialite known for the illustrious parties she throws in her Fitzrovia abode – the imagined daughter of protagonist Suzie.
