Fingers and toes crossed: if all goes to plan and we are spared another jarring plot twist, the UK government will allow people to gather in groups of five in outdoor spaces from 12 April, including on pub, bar and restaurant terraces.

So if you're planning to hit the town at the earliest possible opportunity, here are six of the best outdoor pub and bar terraces in London to reconnect with friends and family after a tumultuous year.
