LVMH Watch Week moved to New York and Paris due to Los Angeles fires

The LVMH Watch Week, which was scheduled to take place in Bel Air, Los Angeles, has been relocated to New York due to ongoing wildfires

LVMH Watch WeekThe sixth edition of the LVMH Watch Week has been cancelled as Los Angeles continues to battle multiple wildfires raging throughout the county. The event was originally meant to take place in LA’s glitzy Bel Air neighbourhood from 21-24 January. However, due to the advancing Palisades fires, authorities ordered the area to be evacuated on Sunday 12 January, citing safety concerns.

The Palisades fire began just eight miles away from Bel Air, which has prompted authorities to take swift action as projected high wind forecasts may fuel the flames even further. It is just one of three destructive wildfires that continues to devastate the area in and around LA.

Now, LVMH Watch Week, which is an opportunity for the nine luxury watch houses under the LVMH umbrella to showcase their latest horological novelties to press and retailers, will move to New York on 21 January. Further presentations will be held at the end of January in Paris where European clients, press and retailers will view the showcase. LVMH Watch WeekThis year, Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton and L’Épée 1839 are scheduled to participate in the event for the very first time.

“This sixth edition of LVMH Watch Week will feature nine of the Group’s watchmaking Maisons, three of them new to the event, driving further momentum for what has grown into a can’t-miss rendezvous for watch aficionados,” said Frédéric Arnault, CEO of LVMH Watches, at the time of the announcement.

The renowned brands will be joining a lineup that comprises Bulgari, Daniel Roth, Gerald Genta, Hublot, TAG Heuer and Zenith. The annual LVMH Watch Week showcase was first launched in 2020 in Dubai, and has since taken place in locations like Singapore and, last year, in Miami.

LMVH Watch Week joins many upcoming award show nominations, events and screenings that have been cancelled or rescheduled due to the ongoing LA wildfires, including 2025 Grammy Week events, the Oscar nominations ceremony, and multiple film premieres. Many residents in the Palisades region – which includes the affluent Malibu area – have had to evacuate their homes due to the fires.
