Dior unveils new Grand Bal and Chiffre Rouge timepieces

Dior has unveiled two new watches, expanding its Grand Bal and Chiffre Rouge collections, as it takes another step in the world of high horology
Dior is known for making some of the most stunning high jewellery watches in the business. And they have done that yet again, by releasing two brand new watches that join the Dior Grand Bal and Chiffre Rouge collections respectively.
The first watch from the luxury brand — joining the Grand Bal collection — is the Dior Grand Bal Broderie Florale. This watch has been designed as a ‘tribute to couture’, featuring a pink mother-of-pearl dial adorned with delicate flowers of diamonds, sapphires and tsavorites, and a diamond-set bezel crowned with a pink mother-of-pearl ring. The watch is meant to replicate the swirling of a ball gown, and features the Dior Inversé calibre, echoing Christian Dior’s designs and ethos — “The ball gown makes you dream and must make you a dream woman” — resulting in a watch fitting for a fairytale.

The other timepiece coming from the Dior camp is the new Chiffre Rouge Rainbow watch. Adding onto the Chiffre Rouge collection with a jewelled rendition, this watch is dressed in the colours of the rainbow and features some of Dior’s most emblematic codes. The dial is crafted in white gold and paved with diamonds, reproducing the cannage pattern. To complete, a rose gold bezel is set by turns with sapphires, amethysts, peridots, tsavorites, tourmalines and rubies. Equipped with an automatic mechanism visible through the back, this timepiece is 38 mm wide and suited to both men’s and women’s wardrobes.
The straps are interchangeable, which allows the wearer to mix and match the watch with new colourways in yellow, green, blue or red — variations specifically dreamed up for this model.
Dior has always taken inspiration from its founder Christian Dior, with many watches paying homage to the designer’s lucky star — which served as an inspiration for him to open the now famous couture house. These watches continue that legacy, and would elevate the look of any wrist that adorns it.
