The watch brand’s CEO announced significant new collections via webcast – with a little help from famous ‘Squad’ ambassadors
Breitling CEO Georges Kern announced the release of three new watch collections via the brand’s first ever online webcast on 16 April, sending a message of hope to the watch industry during the COVID-19 pandemic from what appeared to be his home office as he introduced the Breitling watches themed by air, land and sea.
“The impact of the virus outbreak is a global one, affecting literally every country in the world, nearly every industry and many people around the globe,” Kern said. “For weeks, the authorities have been trying to contain its spread and we fully support all their efforts and dedication in that matter. We will keep doing everything we can within our sphere of influence to bring normality back to our lives. We’re confident that the results will be soon positive, and we are looking forward to being in touch with you personally again soon.”
Breitling’s CEO then went on to remind viewers of the prestige watch brand’s vibrant history, before introducing the three new collections that honour its heritage, while pushing production into a new decade. All the watches are available to purchase online or via its partnering store’s e-commerce sites. Watch Georges Kern's introduction below >>

THE CHRONOMAT COLLECTION
First introduced in 1984, the Chronomat was Breitling’s bold rebuttal to the extra-thin quartz timepieces then dominating the market. This impressive mechanical watch became synonymous with motor racing and yacht regattas alike, thanks to design features like the signature rotating bezel.
The brand’s modern reimagining of the watch includes an inspired rotating bezel with rider tabs at both 3 and 9 o’clock – designed for the wearer to use them for a count-up or count-down function – and a return of the highly recognizable stainless-steel integrated Rouleaux bracelet with a butterfly clasp.
The all-purpose watch comes in a 42mm case size and is available in a choice of metals (stainless-steel and 18k rose gold) and different dial options, including a Bentley Green dial. The highlight of the collection is the 250-piece Frecce Triclori Limited Edition – named after the legendary jet display team of the Italian Air Force. >>

NAVITIMER AUTOMATIC 35
Breitling’s ultimate wristwatch for pilots, the 2020 Navitimer Automatic 35 is a stylish and elegant answer to the desire for a feminine version of the classic watch. Based on the original Navitimer launched in 1952, this update boasts the now infamous circular slide rule and its unique style, without sacrificing heritage or functionality.
The watch reflects more than 65 years of history, comes in a variety of materials, dial, strap and precious stone options and each watch is powered by Breitling Caliber 17, delivering a power reserve of 38-hours.
The collection includes six references of different materials and straps, including luxurious versions with inset diamonds, attractive leather straps in deep jewel tones and bracelets including stainless streel to 18k gold. >>

SUPEROCEAN HERITAGE '57 CAPSULE COLLECTION
Taking inspiration from Breitling’s original 1957 SuperOcean watch, this capsule collection is available for a limited time only. Key references to the historic watch include the attractive concave bezel and oversized indexes, while the three designs offer a contemporary twist, embodying the cool, informal surfing lifestyle.
The collection also includes the SuperOcean Heritage '57 Limited Edition (Rainbow Dial), a Breitling boutique exclusive watch limited to 250-pieces. Splashes of rainbow colour mark the quarters, while Super-Luminova coating of the hour and minute hands creates a graduation of colours and makes the watch easy to read in a variety of lighting conditions. For additional colour, a vibrant Outerknown ECONYL yarn NATO strap can be purchased separately in one of six colour combinations.
