The Glendronach marks 200th anniversary with Boynsmill House Edition whisky

The Glendronach is celebrating its 200 year anniversary by unveiling the 14 year old Boynsmill House Edition limited release whisky
200 years ago, James Allardice founded The Glendronach on the Boynsmill Estate in the Scottish Highlands with a singular vision: to unite the robust character of Highland spirit with the exquisite influence of Spanish sherry casks. Now, in 2026, that journey has culminated in the Glendronach Boynsmill House Edition.
This limited edition whisky, released specifically to celebrate the distillery’s bicentennial anniversary, is a 14-year-old single malt matured in the distillery’s signature combination of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

On the nose, you will find the Glendronach Boynsmill House Edition features a fruit and nut medley, as the sweetness of Highland toffee intertwines with bramble and stone fruit, enriched with hazelnut and raisin. When you go for a taste, you’ll be met with a plush, ripe malt character with a richness of dried fruits and nuts, followed by mellow chocolate caramel notes.
“Created to mark The Glendronach’s 200th anniversary, Boynsmill House Edition captures the timeless charm of our Highland spirit and sherry cask mastery,” says master blender Dr Rachel Barrie.

“In this expression, I find the character that has long made The Glendronach so distinctive: plush ripe malt, Highland toffee, bramble and raisin layered with subtle notes of stone fruit and plum, leading to a mellow, velvety finish. It is a richly rewarding whisky that honours the enduring character of the Valley of the Brambles while celebrating a remarkable moment in our history,” she adds.
As part of its bicentennial celebrations, The Glendronach has also restored the historic Boynsmill House residence. By invitation only, guests can have the rare opportunity to step inside the home where James Allardice secured Scotland’s second-ever whisky licence and laid the foundations for this enduring brand.
The limited edition whisky is now available to purchase for discerning collectors.
