Blancpain launches limited edition Valentine’s Day special series

The Swiss watchmaker continues its longstanding love affair with Valentine’s Day special editions with the 28-piece limited edition Villeret Women Date

Since 2001, Swiss watch manufacturer Blancpain, a subsidiary of the Swatch Group, has been setting its watch-lovers' hearts ablaze with its annual Valentine's Day limited edition offering, and this year is no different. In time for 14 February, the luxury watchmaker is launching its 21st Valentine's Day special series, the Villeret Women Date model.

This tasteful timepiece contains a classy white mother-of-pearl dial, with a seconds hand the form of Cupid’s arrow piercing a small heart for a romantic flourish.

As Blancpain puts its, the openworked hour and minute hands "accentuate the refinement of this timepiece, enhanced by the precious touches of a diamond-set chapter ring and bezel".

The watch is housed in a 33.2mm red gold case and resides in Blancpain calibre 1151, a self-winding Haute Horlogerie movement. An update on the calibre 1150, this movement is endowed with a silicon balance-spring, a four-day power reserve and a date display.

In a statement, the brand calls its new creation a "token of eternity", adding: "The understated elegance of its design, reflecting the very essence of Blancpain style, ensures that this gem-set timepiece joins the ranks of truly ageless models.

"The temptation to offer such a priceless gift to the love of your life is all the greater in that this model comes in a limited edition of just 28," it says.

It is on sale now for £18,700.
