Chef Tom Brown’s highly anticipated flagship restaurant — Tom Brown at the Capital — has opened its doors in Knightsbridge. Marking his return to The Capital Hotel, where he first made his name, Tom’s intimate 28-cover restaurant showcases his signature bold, flavour-led cooking with a strong emphasis on sustainable seafood. The restaurant will offer refined dinner tasting menus, with dishes such as mussel, port, and beetroot; charcuterie with an oyster; wild bass with buttermilk and vanilla and the cuttlefish “ravioli” crafted entirely from fish. Main courses feature monkfish with roast chicken and wild garlic, followed by turbot with smoked eel and black truffle. There is also a delightful lunch menu for anyone looking to have a relaxing meal in the sun. An incredible new opening in the heart of Knightsbridge, we’d suggest making a reservation sooner rather than later.

Renowned East End artisan baker Lily Vanilli has launched a new aperi-tea concept at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge that takes the quintessentially English tradition of afternoon tea and reinvents it for modern Londoners. London By Lily Vanilli is served in the grand Rotunda Bar and Lounge, and as day turns to evening, the lights will dim, and the menu will shift to entice guests with an aperitivo-style service and a distinctive night-time energy. The new afternoon tea features some of London’s most on-trend dishes, reinvented in Lily’s unique style. Some dishes include her signature celebration cakes, a creme brulée basque cheesecake and a tiramisu tart. Lily will also be serving up her infamous, delicate cake-like scones.The accompanying drinks menu contains mini-cocktails, including the Lily Royale and the Salted Espresso, as well as classic cocktails and mini martinis.

London’s biggest flower showcase, Chelsea in Bloom, is back for its 20th anniversary edition. This year, the festival, which will run from 19 to 25 May, has chosen the theme ‘Flowers in Fashion’. In keeping with this theme, the streets and stores of Chelsea will be adorned with floral installations that take inspiration from iconic fashion movements, style icons and muses — honouring Chelsea’s legacy as one of the world’s most stylish destinations. Some of the planned arrangements include a giant yellow Wellington boots beneath a canopy of umbrellas on Sloane Square; a four-metre-high punk’s head with a floral mohawk on King’s Road; an oversized handbag at Duke of York Square; and Elton John-inspired oversized sunglasses on Sloane Street.
