Piaget has unveiled its new ultra limited edition Altiplano Skeleton watch — a high jewellery extravaganza that is an ode to artistry, creativity and precision
Piaget chairman Yves G Piaget once said: “A watch is first and foremost a piece of jewellery.” This is the philosophy that sums up the Swiss watch maison’s history since its inception in 1874. The brand is renowned for its ultra thin watches and high jewellery creations. Now, it has unveiled a new boundary pushing timepiece to add to its savoir-faire: the Piaget Altiplano Skeleton Métiers d’Art high jewellery watch.
The watch, which is limited to just eight pieces, encapsulates three different savoir-faires: the arts of skeleton watchmaking, gem-setting and cloisonné enamelling. It marries an ultra-thin skeletonised gem-set movement and case with cloisonné enamel artwork by Anita Porchet.

A palette of blue, green and purple hues in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel covers the front and back of the dial, spreading to the very edge of the bezel, giving it a crescent shape.
The rest of the space features a skeletonised gem-set movement and bezel that is accentuated with gradient sapphires and diamonds.
As is the case with many Piaget timepieces, the Altiplano Skeleton high jewellery watch is ultra thin, coming in at just 7mm thick. It also features the brand’s ultra thin automatic white gold calibre 1201D. This movement is 3mm thick, with the bridges of its mainplate adorned with diamonds and blue sapphires to match with the gradient on the bezel.
