Louis Moinet has launched a unique timepiece containing Martian meteorite dust and a fragment from the moon

The luxury watch brand has developed a one-of-a-kind creation to honour the UAE space mission to Mars.

Louis Moinet has launched a unique creation dedicated to the UAE space mission which contains an authentic meteorite fragment from the Moon and genuine Martian meteorite dust.

The Hope Probe Tourbillon was created to honour the UAE’s Hope Probe which is the first Arab space mission. The Hope Probe will orbit Mars for at least one Martian year (687 days) and will be the first probe to provide a complete picture of the Martian atmosphere while evaluating its seasonal and daily changes.

Using technology exclusive to Louis Moinet, the brand, which is known for producing designs inspired by “Cosmic Art” or “Mechanical Wonders”, has developed this extraordinary timepiece which is the world's first satellite tourbillon.

The watch features the map of the Northern hemisphere constellations crafted using a special miniature painting and depicted on a blue dial made of mother-of-pearl.

Truly exceeding the brand’s core values of creativity, exclusivity, art and design, the timepiece boasts a green tourbillon carriage, measuring 13.59mm in diameter, which is balanced by a Mars planet rotating around it and incrusted with genuine Mars meteorite dust.

A hand-painted depiction of the Hope Probe appears on the black aventurine front plate, inlaid with a genuine lunar meteorite fragment – as too is the black rear plate featuring a hand-painted UAE astronaut.
