Experience London’s most extravagant cocktail – complete with a diamond

London’s Cantina Laredo is offering a diamond garnished margarita for £50,000 a glass
If you’re partial to a classic cocktail and are eager to try a contemporary take on the traditional margarita recipe, London Mexican restaurant Cantina Laredo are upping the ante with a sparkling update on the popular beverage. Priced at £50,000 a glass, this extraordinary cocktail is throwing all other competition out of the water (or should we say tequila) when it comes to luxury beverages.
Taking the title as the city's most expensive cocktail, the drink is a blend of two premium tequilas mixed with the juice of white pineapples and limequats. It's beautifully garnished with Isle of Skye salt, citrus caviar, dehydrated pineapple flower – and a precious 4.1 carat diamond from Bond Street jewellers Beards, served floating on a pineapple flower.

The key ingredients lie within a pair of luxury tequilas, 1800 Colección, one of the rarest tequilas in the world with a price tag of £2,000 per bottle, and Sugar Loaf Pineapple infused Jose Cuervo Reserva de La Familia Platino Tequila. The opulent cocktail also fuses freshly squeezed Limequat, a lime-kumquat hybrid, in place of the traditional lime, and Ancho Chile Shrub, catering to even the most discerning of cocktail connoisseurs.
The drink is so exclusive it must be pre-ordered before you arrive to drink or dine, and is served with the help of two security guards who will also escort you home to ensure you – and your diamond – are delivered safely. Cantina Laredo, near Covent Garden, last year launched its speciality guacamole and tequila bar offering 30 varieties of blue agave tequilas and a range of mezcals to surprise and delight spirit-lovers. Premium signature cocktails on the menu are inspired by the restaurant's Mexican heritage. Cheers to that.
