Luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet announced the partnership at Dubai Watch Week
Swiss haute horology manufacturer Audemars Piguet has announced that it will be partnering with the Dubai Future Foundation to push for innovation within and beyond haute horlogerie. The announcement was made during Dubai Watch Week, which took place at the Dubai International Finance Centre from November 16 to 20.
This partnership will seek to continue Audemars Piguet’s long standing legacy of cross-disciplinary collaborations with technology and innovation leaders. It will serve as an inspiration for the luxury watch brand to move its craft forward, while encouraging a new generation of watchmakers to broaden their horizons and skills to give life to unexpected projects.
Speaking about the collaboration, Audemars Piguet’s CEO François-Henry Bennahmia expressed his enthusiasm at working with the foundation. “Our new partnership with Dubai Future Foundation promotes talents and cutting-edge research collaboration,” he said. “Their creative minds and distinctive perspectives as leaders in the field of innovation will help us imagine and shape the future of haute horlogerie, with the unveiling of our first project in 2025.”
During Dubai Watch Week, Audemars Piguet also hosted a large-scale exhibition called Seek Beyond, which explored the manufacturer’s journey to new horizons. It offered an immersive and interactive journey into the luxury watch brand’s universe since 1875 and retraced how they have pushed the boundaries of watchmaking.
Among the heritage and contemporary timepieces exhibited, visitors had the opportunity to see the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Ultra-Complication Universelle and the Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date, both of which are known for combining modern techniques with ergonomics and contemporary aesthetics.
The exhibition also shed light onto the manufacturer’s search into experimentation of different materials and gemstones. It also featured several workbenches where AP artisans shared details about the brand’s legacy and savoir-faire while showcasing some timepieces from the brand’s repertoire.
Visitors were also invited to explore a variety of materials and gemstones to better understand their physical properties and learn about their transformative journey into high-end ergonomic watch designs.
Audemars Piguet also participated in the Dubai Watch Week hands-on workshop programme with two dedicated masterclasses, where visitors could try their hand at refined haute horology decorations and explore gem setting under the guidance of experts.
