Vintage car enthusiasts and motor heads seeking an adventurous countryside escape this year should look no further than The Montagu Arms, which has launched a brand new package in which guests can take one of a range of classic cars for a spin in the winding country roads that surround the establishment.
Located in the heart of the New Forest and a stone’s throw from the Beaulieu Motor Museum with its world-class collection of vintage cars, the luxury hotel’s new Classic Car Break includes an overnight stay in a stylish Courtyard Room – developed within the original 1920s chauffeur garages – breakfast and a tasting menu experience at the award-winning Terrace Restaurant, classic car hire, and tickets to Beaulieu.
Guests can enjoy a thrilling drive along country roads, passing ancient woodlands with roaming wildlife and charming historic villages. Available for hire from Beaulieu Garage choose from a selection of iconic British Sports Cars, including a striking red 1966 Jaguar E-Type – a historical favourite with the potential speed of up to 150mph – a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III, considered the most powerful of the ‘Big Healey’ series, or the Gardner Douglas 427 Cobra.
Come evening, patrons can savour a seven-course tasting menu with paired wines in the award-winning three AA Rosette Terrace Restaurant. Designed by Executive Chef and New Forest-born Matthew Whitfield, dishes will include organic seasonal produce from the surrounding Hampshire countryside alongside ingredients hand-picked from the hotel’s bountiful kitchen garden.
