Fenchurch Restaurant unveils bold Caribbean flavours with a brand new look

Fenchurch Restaurant, located in the building that houses the Sky Garden, has unveiled a refurbished look with menus that will tantalise your palette

Fenchurch RestaurantFenchurch Restaurant now has a whole new look. The restaurant, located on the 37th floor of the building that houses the Sky Garden, has unveiled a brand new transformation with a refurbished setting, new menus and a casual counter dining experience.

Fenchurch is one of the go-to restaurants in the city of London for anyone looking for a meal surrounded by the gorgeous London skyline. And there is truly no better place to do that than at a restaurant that is completely surrounded by the unparalleled views offered by its Sky Garden location.

The new look aims to transport diners to a tropical oasis in the city’s skyline with tropical-themed accents, pops of colour and botanical lighting. During the weekend, Fenchurch will host a DJ who will be livening up the space with some Caribbean tunes as a nod to head chef Kerth Gumbs’ childhood roots in the Caribbean island of Anguilla.Fenchurch RestaurantThe refurbishment was marked by the introduction of Kerth’s new spring tasting menu, which features dishes inspired by his Caribbean roots. The menu comprises nine courses and promises to take guests on a culinary journey through the Caribbean.

Having tried some of the dishes on offer at Fenchurch, we can safely say that the seabass with salt fish, smoked oyster, and scotch bonnet emulsion is one of the highlights of the restaurant. It is tangy and full of flavour, with the scotch bonnet emulsion offering a perfect compliment to the fish.

Another highlight — featured in the restaurant’s set lunch menu — is the crab and lobster linguine. Beyond being a seafood pasta delight, it is creamy and spicy — a delightful explosion of flavour in your mouth. There is also the pre-dessert treat of soursop lolly with rum and lime gummy bear that can be found in the tasting menu that serves as a palate cleanser, setting the stage for dessert. The menus are completely adaptable to guests’s plant based needs, with each course on the tasting menu also available with perfectly matched wines.

For those looking for a more informal affair, the new counter menu can be enjoyed in the lounge or pull up a stool at the bar. There are a variety of pick and mix dishes to choose from, with the cured jerk salmon ceviche and the grilled baby chicken being a standout highlight for us.

A wonderful dining experience surrounded by the most gorgeous views of the London skyline, a meal at the newly refurbished Fenchurch Restaurant is not something you’d want to miss.
