Saison by Mauro Colagreco is the ultimate spot for weekend feasting, offering a set Sunday menu (Sundays at Saison) that merges British tradition with Mediterranean flavours. Set in the courtyard-like setting of a restored glass arcade, diners can enjoy two or three courses with bottomless Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée NV champagne.

ALTERNATIVE OFFERINGSJOIA, Battersea
Those looking for an alternative Sunday plan can opt for a special set menu from two Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa at JOIA — the Iberian restaurant set across the 15th floor of art’otel Battersea. 

Featuring family-style sharing plates, this includes petiscos and tapas of pan con tomate, iberico croquetas and glazed aubergine with black olive tapinade to start, followed by a choice of mains such as seafood cataplana — a portuguese fish stew made with clams, prawns and the catch of the day — and rack of lamb with roast potatoes and rosemary and pancetta sauce, accompanied by patatas bravas and green salad with apple and moscatel dressing. 

For dessert, guests can round things off with basque cheesecake or spiced pineapple with rum syrup and coconut ice cream. Overlooking the Battersea Power Station, JOIA is the perfect spot to get a head start on the weekend, or to fortify spirits after a Sunday of retail therapy nearby. Kolamba East, Shoreditch
Kolamba East — the new Sri Lankan restaurant from Aushi and Eroshan Meewella — is where you’ll find a hearty weekend feast with a twist. In place of a traditional roast with yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings, expect sharing plates of jaffna lamb shank in a spicy tamarind sauce and whole rib jaggery beef accompanied by cassava, fried capiscum and roasted pineapple, as well as cacklebean egg hoppers. 

Bringing Colombo’s vibrant flavours to east London, the menu features a modern take on Sri Lankan home-cooking and sits alongside a creative cocktail list, featuring Banana Manhattans and Vermouth Pandan Iced Teas, served from the restaurant’s central bar.
