After an indulgent festive season filled with good food and — more often than not — good booze, Dry January offers an opportunity to start fresh and ditch the alcohol altogether. And it is more popular than ever, as millions of people around the UK are expected to take part this year.
And while it may seem daunting at first to ditch the alcohol for an extended period of time — especially when most social occasions call for a tipple or two — participating in Dry January doesn’t have to be a challenge. Many of London’s finest restaurants and bars have introduced a number of alcohol free drinks and mocktails to make it easier to go cold turkey.
So if you’re looking to cut down on alcohol for your health or simply want a lifestyle change, we have compiled some of the best bars and restaurants in London that are offering amazing non alcoholic drinks to help you live an alcohol-free January.

Cahoots Underground will be collaborating with Seedlip on their Dry January menus. The non-alcoholic cocktails will feel as though they have been uncovered from secret wartime recipes and feature revitalising or energising ingredients. And in a fun little twist, each drink on the menu will have ingredients that have been replaced with morse code. Should a guest be able to decipher the code, they will receive a complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink. Cocktails include Decoded Fizz and the Eastside Secret. The non-alcoholic cocktails at Cahoots: Postal Office will also feature the same morse code format, with drinks including The Kiwi Key and Expresso Delivery, which is a riff on an Espresso Martini.Cornus, Belgravia
This Dry January, diners at Cornus can enjoy a cold brew tea pairing, featuring three premium teas from Lalani & Co. Brewed by the sommelier team and served as you would a fine wine, paired drinks include: Japanese green tea, Taiwanese oolong and a Nepalese black tea. What’s more, on 16 January, Lalani & Co’s Jameel Lalani will host a tea tasting event in Cornus’s private dining room, where guests can enjoy a five-course menu from executive chef Gary Foulkes, paired with Lalani & Co teas.Oriole, Covent Garden
Oriole, located in The Yards in Covent Garden, offers a menu of non-alcoholic cocktails inspired by the speakeasy bar’s namesake: the adventure-seeking oriole birds. Non-alcoholic serves include Caloocan Cooler (Three Spirit Livener, lemongrass beer, white peach and jasmin tonic, lime juice); Serra Do Mar (Everleaf Marine, eucalyptus cordial, salted pineapple soda, lime); Royal Crescent (Seedlip Garden, Roots Divino Blanco, bean blossom). This Dry January, Kitchen Table diners can enjoy chef James Knappett’s two Michelin-starred tasting menu alongside a selection of ‘soft’ drinks pairings from sommelier and co-founder Sandia Chang. Non-alcoholic cocktails on offer include Forelle Pear and Oyster Leaf & Samphire.Nessa, Soho
Nessa’s bar offers no or low alcohol cocktails including the Check It Out and the Timeless . Alcohol-free sparkling wines and beers are also available, which are best enjoyed alongside bar snacks from executive chef Tom Cenci. JOIA Bar, which is located on the 14th floor of art’otel Battersea Power Station, serves its drinks offering alongside sweeping views of the London skyline. They serve non-alcoholic versions of a number of cocktails, including Rubi and Heliodoro. Mr Fogg’s will host a “secret society” focused on wellness, experimentation, and mindful drinking across a myriad of its cocktail bars. Joining forces with Seedlip and CleanCo, the non-alcoholic drinks feature ingredients that have qualities that can increase vitality, enhance clarity or boost one’s mood. These drinks will be available at Mr Fogg’s Residence, Apothecary, Society of Exploration, Pawnbrokers, Gin Parlour, Gin Club and Treehouse. Cocktails include the Tranquil Tincture and the Clarity Concoction. Each cocktail comes with a card detailing the ways in which the ingredients used offer qualities that could benefit the imbiber.
