Indulge in a private dining ‘paradise’ with the Hennessy Experience Room

Celebrating one of its most popular – and rarest – blended cognacs, the Paradis Imperial, Hennessy has brought its Experience Room private dining experience to London in collaboration with the Four Seasons at Park Lane. Available until 27 April, the experience caters to groups of between six and 10, offering a brandy-inspired four course menu created by Four Seasons executive chef Romauld Feger.

The tasting experience begins with a VIP entry via the hotel's private entrance on Hamilton Place, where guests will be greeted with an aperitif of Hennessy X.O on ice by their optional host. This 'extra old' cognac is a house staple, dark and complex with leather and tobacco notes. Maurice Hennessy first bottled the X.O in 1870 for friends and family – making it the perfect intimate introduction to the evening.

Feger's menu is perfectly paired to the Paradis Imperial, one of the brands rarest blends, and includes Scottish Blue Lobster tail, roasted turbot and dark muscovado steamed sponge cake. The chef himself has led the Four Seasons since 2015, before which he worked at Michelin-starred Le Chateau du Domain St Martin in Vence, and The Connaught London. Available wines include choices from Newton and Cheval des Andes, finishing with, of course, the Paradis Imperial itself.

The dining menu manages its remarkable pairing by taking influence from unique blend of eau de vies brandies that makes up the Paradis Imperial. Of the 10,000 brandy varieties tasted by the Hennessy Tasting Committee and Master Blender each year – including rare cognacs from the 19th and 20th centuries – only the most delicate 10 will make it into the final blend. First released in 2011, the Paradis Imperial was inspired by the same cognac that the brand created in 1818 for Tsar Alexander I as a present from his mother.
