Zenith and Time+Tide unveil the latest Defy Skyline Skeleton watch

The Defy Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic watch is the final timepiece in the Zenith and Time+Tide Surfer trilogy

Zenith defy skeletonZenith and Time+Tide have unveiled their latest watch, which serves as the final timepiece in the Surfer trilogy: the Defy Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic watch.

Created using lightweight, ultra-resistant white ceramic, this 41mm timepiece is both resilient and refined, designed to perform on land and at sea, with 10 ATM water resistance and a screw-down crown.

Its openworked gradient blue dial, fading from deep ocean blue to sky blue, evokes the shifting hues of the horizon. The signature five-pointed star-shaped bridges, filled with Super-LumiNova, glow after dark as a nod to the very first Night Surfer and one of the rare times ZENITH has featured a luminous logo.Related: Taylor Swift announces The Life of a Showgirl sporting a Cartier watch

Visible through the open dial and sapphire caseback, the watch features an El Primero 3620 SK calibre. A skeletonised, high-frequency automatic calibre, it directly drives the 1/10th of a second indicator at 6 o’clock. It also has a 55-hour power reserve, hacking seconds, and a fully reimagined light blue finish on the mainplate, bridges, and rotor.

The trilogy’s boldest expression to date, the White Surfer Ceramic watch is limited to just 100 pieces and comes on an integrated white ceramic bracelet, and includes a white rubber strap with a starry-sky motif, thanks to the intuitive quick-change system.

Speaking about the collaboration, Zenith CEO Benoît de Clerck said that this is an elevation of the continuing story between the brand and Time+Tide.

Time+Tide founder Andrew McUtchen elaborated on that, saying that the brands ‘took a risk’ by gunning for a trilogy.

“We took a risk going for a trilogy after two such successful editions. But when we saw the prototype in brushed white ceramic with that gradient dial, we knew we had to do it. This is the ultimate summer watch,” he said.

The Zenith and Time+Tide Defy Skyline Skeleton White Surfer Ceramic watch is available to purchase now.
