Watches of Switzerland have released a limited edition Laureato in collaboration with renowned watchmakers Girard-Perregaux
Watches of Switzerland have announced a brand new partnership with Swiss luxury watchmakers Girard-Perregaux to mark their 100 year anniversary, and have released a limited edition 50 piece Laureato 42mm watch to celebrate the occasion.
The Watches of Switzerland centenary Girard-Perregaux limited edition Laureato 42mm features a combination of steel casing and refined pink gold elements that are an homage to the colours and material combinations of the inaugural version of the Laureato watch in 1975.
This exclusive, limited edition timepiece features a 42mm case in steel and 18k pink gold, with the same effect being mirrored in the caseback side thanks to a pink gold oscillating weight adorned with Cotes de Geneve. The watch also has a Clous de Paris pattern adorning the dial.
The timepiece houses the Manufacture GP01800 caliber, which boasts more than two days of power reserve. It also has a sapphire crystal caseback with a satin finish, engravings, circular graining and more techniques woven into the timepiece. Speaking about this new collaboration, Craig Bolton, president of the Watches of Switzerland Group UK and Europe, expressed his delight at working with Girard-Perregaux, adding that the collaboration “exemplifies the shared values of craftsmanship and artistry that defines both brands”.
“As a tribute to a century of watchmaking excellence, the Watches of Switzerland centenary limited edition, Laureato exclusive is a symbol of innovation, heritage, and timeless elegance. We are delighted to have worked with Girard-Perregaux on this special timepiece,” he said.
Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Girard-Perregaux, echoed the sentiment, saying that they are “thrilled to celebrate this very special anniversary together”.
“Over the years, our shared dedication to Haute Horlogerie has really brought us closer. This milestone is a strong reminder of the enduring partnership with The Watches of Switzerland Group and the exciting future we are building together,” he added.
