On 31 May 2018, Volopa will launch its revolutionary new Earth Conservation Card at the Tempus Earth Conservation Gala. A foreign exchange card aimed at HNW individuals who love to travel, and give back to charity, the card will enable users to effortlessly swap between 14 different currencies on one card while on the go. Best of all, almost a third of all revenue goes to charity, meaning it’s perfect for those with a philanthropic streak.

Graham Smith, managing director of Volopa, said: “The reason we’re using the Tempus Earth Conservation Gala event to launch the card is because of our ongoing association with Tempus Magazine and its high-quality events. The product has been designed specifically for launch at the gala because the theme is solidly on earth conservation, and the card itself will be an enduring product which reinforces our core values.”

This new card differs from others in Volopa’s collection for a number of reasons. First is the design, which reflects the earth conservation theme. Second is the material – the card is made of biodegradable plastic while the carrier is a recycled leather passport cover. Third is the card’s international functionality, which goes above and beyond what’s currently offered on the market – transaction fees, for example, which are fixed at 1%, are far below virtually all of its competitors.

“It has been designed for travellers to help streamline expense management and international foreign exchange charges, allowing them to travel seamlessly,” explained Smith. “It holds up to 14 currencies on one card, which is relatively unusual and certainly gives flexibility. It’s driven through the Volopa platform and carries the Earth Conservation branding but, more importantly, 30% of all revenues will go back to charities like the WWF and other charities as directed by the panel we’ve put together of leading conservationists – including [photographer and environmentalist] Tim Flach, who we work with quite closely.” >>

Users can select between two card designs – a monochrome composition featuring images of wildlife and a colourful nature-inspired layout – which were created with the theme in mind. Both options carry the same functionality. Customers can also monitor their expenses and change between currencies on the move via the Volopa app.

“People love the designs,” Smith said. “The physical card will not only reinforce the message in terms of earth conservation, and therefore associate the user to that cause, but it’s also very meaningful in the sense that it’s been designed to fit the purpose. The revenue stream is going back to recognised charities that are doing solid work in the area of earth conservation, of which we are firm supporters.”

The Volopa Earth Conservation Card, which also comes with a host of lifestyle benefits such as preferential rates at selected hotels and restaurants, will be available to order following the launch at the Tempus Earth Conservation Gala on 31 May 2018.
