Tonino Lamborghini unveils new luxury Android smartphone

The premium Italian lifestyle brand launches $2450 Alpha-One smart phone

Tonino Lamborghini, heir to the Lamborghini family renowned for their luxury sports cars and cutting edge technology on the roads, has unveiled the details for his eponymous lifestyle company’s latest move into the mobile phone market. The Alpha-One Android smartphone will be available to purchase for a cool $2,450 (£1,915), available online or from London’s Harrods department store as the sole UK retailer now.

The phone, which will also be available in select boutiques in Dubai and the UAE, features a 5.5inch QuadHD AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB memory with up to 128GB expendable storage. Twin cameras allow keen phone-photographers to make the most of the la Dolce Vita, with a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera and eight-megapixel front-facing lens for a stylish selfie.

Further specs for the tech-minded consumer include a fingerprint scanner for added security, DOLBY ATMOS dual speakers, 3,250mAh battery boasting 14-hours continuous run, and a dual SIM card support – allowing users to host two phone accounts at once.The phones runs on Android Nougat with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.

But while the specs are relatively unsurprising, beauty is not just on the inside with this mobile phone – its rectangular body is full of sharp corners and bold lines framed with a durable, shock-resistant pink gold alloy that is purportedly the same metal used to build Lamborghini supercars.

”Alpha-One represents a new species of mobile phones that combines technology with pure luxury,” Lamborghini said. “It is made with the finest materials, including handcrafted Italian leather and a liquid alloy developed specifically to resist corrosion whilst remaining lightweight. This uniquely designed phone combines design, fashion and functionality.”

Encased in a complimentary custom handmade Italian leather phone case, the Alpha-One marks eight years since the company’s first “mobile IT products”, and is part of Tonio Lamborghini’s luxury lifestyle offerings that include Italian-designed watches, perfumes, furniture, clothing and boutique hotels and lounges.
