The Nomad Barber delivers a close shave for the well-travelled gentleman

Nomad Barber Miguel Guttierrez reflects on partnering with Oris for Movember as Tempus gets a restyle
Tucked away from sight along one of East London's many winding backstreets, the illuminated shop window of The Nomad Barber spilled light into one of December's darker evenings. Inside the glass shop front, although steamed and restricting of view, echoes of laughter and hustle were a welcoming sound on a bitterly cold night.
The popular gentlemen's barber is owned by Miguel Gutierrez, who last month chose to use his high profile and shaving expertise to team up with luxury watch brand Oris in their quest to raise money for the Movember Foundation. Together, the brands raised more than £3,275 of Oris' European total of £33,500 for the men's health charity.
Guttierrez told Tempus: "I loved working on this campaign, raising awareness for men's health is something which is so important for the men of today. Having personally dealt with mental health and people close to me, it means a lot to be able to contribute.
"Barbering exploded in 2013 and has been growing since," said the men's barber and hair stylist, who is widely acclaimed on social media platforms like Instagram thanks to his documentation of men's style around the world. "It’s down to social media and highlighting the potential in working in such a job with creativity and freedom to express yourself." >>

Oris sales and marketing manager Paul Thurlow added: "With Oris’s vision to bring change for the better, we are proud to help Movember raise awareness. We created a special edition of the iconic Divers Sixty-Five and partnered with London Barber, The Nomad Barber to offer free shaves for men participating in fundraising for the international men's health charity. With their huge following across social media The Nomad Barber gave us the perfect platform to promote our fundraising and connect with an engaged audience. It was a pleasure to work with Miguel, the founder of Nomad Barber and his team of highly talented barbers, for such a great cause."
Eager to experience a close shave on Tempus' behalf, Alex Papadopoulos said: "The setting was neither modern, nor refined but instead offered a welcome throwback to times of old. Vintage in its decor but contemporary in its approach to modern grooming. Inside I was greeted by a young, bearded gent. His tattoos adorned both arms with an array of stunning artwork which made for excellent conversation as I sat in the barber's chair.
"Seated and excitedly sipping on a beer, we began to talk business as he surgically and without thought dissected the structure of my previous cut. His movements were considered, decisive, efficient – the teachings of his trade was clear to see. Nomad Barber is a trendy throwback, with a great service and modern cuts.
