The best edible gifts for Easter 2021
By Tempus | 29 March 2021 | Food & Drink
From flashy hampers to extravagant eggs, here are the best items to surprise a loved one this Easter
Easter falls just weeks before the UK businesses begin to open up again after the pandemic, meaning that a Sunday roast at your favourite country pub will unfortunately be off the cards.
So for this rather unique Easter, why not send a package of something truly delicious to a loved one to show you care? Here are some of the best edible treats available for Easter 2021:
LADURÉE BY CHAPON
Ladurée, Parisien masters of the macaron, have partnered with French artisan chocolatier Patric Chapon for their mouthwatering upcoming Easter collection.
Alongside delicious chocolate eggs, the classically delicate Ladurée Easter egg box design draws new inspiration from the Mayan chocolate god “Ek Chuah” and incorporates a seasonal pastel colour scheme.
The individual dark chocolate egg is created with 75% Chuao chocolate encrusted with toasted almonds, while the beautifully designed gift box holds 20 Sicilian almond and Piedmont hazelnut praline chocolate eggs which are carefully decorated with white chocolate designs. The collection is available in stores and online from the 15 March.
BOLNEY AFTERNOON TEA HAMPER
Although somewhat unorthodox, Tempus believes a luxury afternoon tea is the perfect way to celebrate Easter and this year you can surprise your family with a Bolney hamper, packed full of sumptuous goodies and delivered straight to her door.
Inside you will find an array of tempting tea-time sweets, including clotted cream shortbread, marmalade, Truffles, salted caramel popcorn and a slider of English fudge – all of which go wonderfully well with a tine of loose-leaf afternoon tea and a bottle of Eighteen Acre Sparkling Rosé and Lychgate Rosé.
CAMBRIA JULIA'S VINEYARD PINOT NOIR
The slice of Cambria Estate Winery dubbed Julia’s Vineyard, named for Julia Jackson in 1986, consists of ancient soils with fossilised seashells, shale, limestone and sand, with fog swept vines that have endured since the 1970s.
And Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir is the Californian estate's crowning glory; vibrant garnet in colour with a wonderful swirl of juicy red fruits on the nose. Ripe cherry, bold black grape and strawberry flavours on the palate are complimented by a touch of cinnamon spice and subtle underlying earth tones, followed by a well-rounded, mid-palate and a deftly defined elegant finish.
CRÊPEAFFAIRE EASTER EGG HUNT PANCAKE KIT
Even though hosting large family feasts is off the table this year, you can still have fun at home with an Easter egg hunt and a cracking prize of chocolate filled crêpes for the treasure hunters of the house.
Perfect for big and little kids alike, Crêpeaffaire’s kit takes Easter treats to a new level with 250g of luxury house-blend pancake mix (enough for around 10 crêpes), and seasonal toppings of Nutella, smarties, white chocolate, mini eggs, golden syrup and Cadbury’s crème eggs. Whether you stack them up or sandwich them together, it couldn’t be easier – just add water and get ready to flip.
FORTNUM & MASON VEGAN-FRIENDLY SUSTAINABLE SAILBOAT CHOCOLATE EASTER EGG
This Easter, iconic food brand Fortnum & Mason is releasing its latest tantalising treat, the Fortnum’s Sailboat 85% Chocolate Easter Egg. Despite making an epic journey from the Caribbean to Piccadilly, this egg is the sustainable choice for Easter 2021 having been transported by a fleet of wind-powered sailing boats from Grenada to Ireland in order to be environmentally conscious.
This vegan friendly creation balances complex flavours of fresh fig, bold cocoa and rich aromas of tobacco and leather, and nestled within you will find fine flavour cocoa tea husks; a delicious by-product of the chocolate-making process, which can be steeped to make a smooth and exhilarating cocoa tea. This egg is the ultimate guilt-free indulgence.
EVOK CHOCOLATE CHICKEN COOP
Leading hospitality group EVOK is launching The Chocolate Chicken Coop this Easter; a collection of chocolate masterpieces to celebrate the 2021 trend of nostalgia and the traditions of Easter that we all love.
Yann Brys, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and Director of EVOK's sweet creations, has designed a different treat for the identity of each EVOK hotel. Four bold and delicious interpretations in limited editions to thrill the taste buds of children and adults alike.
HÔTEL DE CRILLON CHOCOLATE EASTER EGG SHOWSTOPPER
Deep in the heart of Paris lies Hôtel de Crillon, an iconic hideaway set inside a building dating to 1758 that was officially designated a palace by the French government in 2018. And at Le Boudoir, the hotel's on-site cognac shop, Head Pastry Chef Matthieu Carlin has designed an exquisite Easter egg incorporating Caribbean and Dominican Republic origin dark chocolate to construct a culinary feat, taking edible artistry to new heights.
The egg represents two main symbols of the hotel; its celebrated 1973 Citroen DS car that ushers hotel guests around the capital, and the Parisian pavements of the Place de la Concorde.

This year, the iconic caviar brand is launching a number of limited edition offerings including the After Eggxiting Gift Set, which includes two so-called "Eggxiting" jars that each contain 12g of caviar and are paired with Petrossian vodka miniatures and two mini individual tasting spoons that can be taken anywhere.
