Taylor Swift appeared on the New Heights podcast to announce her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl wearing a Panthère de Cartier watch
Taylor Swift is back. The multi Grammy award winning singer has announced that she will be releasing her highly anticipated 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on 3 October. She revealed this news with a surprise appearance on the New Heights podcast, which is hosted by her partner Travis and his brother Jason Kelce, who are both American football players. And if you’re a horology aficionado, you will have noticed that Taylor Swift was sporting a classic Cartier watch throughout her two-hour long conversation.
The watch in question is the Panthère de Cartier, which has been a staple in many famous women’s timepiece collections over the years. Worn by everyone from Madonna to Princess Diana, the Panthère, which debuted in 1983, is one of the most popular timepieces from the high fashion brand.

The crown of the watch is also set with a diamond, and has a silvered dial, blued-steel sword-shaped hands and a yellow gold bracelet.
The panther has always been an important emblem of the House of Cartier. In 1914, Louis Cartier commissioned French illustrator George Barbier to create the ‘Lady with a Panther’ to use on a jewellery exhibition invitation. The panther then appeared on a Cartier ladies’ wrist watch made with black onyx and diamonds that very same year.
Since then, the maison has used the panther as inspiration in many of its creations, leading up to the creation of Panthère de Cartier in 1983.

There is a reason why there are currently over 70 variations of the Panthère available to purchase on the brand’s website. It is dainty and understated, yet has a sense of regal elegance that is synonymous with Cartier. Classy, yet not too flashy, this is a favourite among many high profile celebrities.
Taylor Swift can always be seen sporting a fun timepiece every now and again. She has worn the Louis Vuitton Tambour to support her boyfriend at his NFL games, worn matching Rolexes on dates, and even turned a custom-made vintage Lorraine Schwartz watch into a choker at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
And given that her new album is called The Life of a Showgirl, what better way to demonstrate that than by showing off her incredible watch collection to the world, one public appearance at a time?
