Royal Salute unveils Fashion Collection whisky collaboration with designer Harris Reed

Royal Salute has collaborated with celebrated fashion designer Harris Reed to release a limited edition 21 year old whisky

Royal Salute Harris ReedRoyal Salute is bringing whisky to the heart of fashion by collaborating with celebrated designer Harris Reed on the next chapter of its Fashion Collection: The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Harris Reed Edition.

The collaboration began when Royal Salute master blender Sandy Hyslop hosted Harris Reed for a private blending session at the Strathisla Distillery in Speyside, Scotland, where together they crafted the new 21 Year Old blend.

To dress the bottle, Reed, who is known for his demi-couture designs, gender-fluid fashion and A-list celebrity following, took inspiration from his own signature headpieces — including one he made for superstar Beyoncé — and Royal Salute’s heritage story to create a modern interpretation of a royal crown. A halo of feathers adorns each theatrical flagon design, and is cast in three different colourways.

Chosen because it reminds Reed of his childhood memories, this liquid is married with malts matured in American oak barrels for heightened fruit and sweet notes.

The blend also includes a grain whisky finished in charred virgin oak barrels which brings layers of vanilla into the mix.

Speaking about the partnership, Harris Reed revealed that getting to dive into Royal Salute’s rich history served as a huge inspiration for the collaboration.

“Luxury is something to collect and treasure, and I am so delighted to share such an exceptional whisky that can be enjoyed and talked about around the globe,” he added.

As part of the collaboration, Harris Reed also designed an exclusive fashion collection of three distinct looks inspired by the three flagon designs, complete with matching headpieces that showcase the designer’s famed style.

The collection, along with the new collaboration, was unveiled at London Fashion Week in September.
