Louis Vuitton has forged a new era in luxury beauty with its La Beauté makeup range with creative director Pat McGrath
Louis Vuitton has always embraced the spirit of luxury in motion. Everything the brand creates is rooted in travelling and being on the go. The brand’s latest venture – the long-awaited makeup range titled La Beauté Louis Vuitton – is just another example of that ethos. Envisioned by creative director and visionary makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath, this elevated makeup line features a highly curated offering of the finest quality and is designed to be kept forever.
Pre-launching on 25 August, La Beauté Louis Vuitton collection is debuting with 55 different lipsticks (a nod to the roman numerals for LV), 10 hues of balms, and eight eyeshadows palettes.
The lipsticks, dubbed LV Rouge, come in a velvety matte or a creamy satin finish, and feature an all-natural formula created by upcycled waxes from rose, jasmine and mimosa flowers, which is then enriched with shea butter and a hyaluronic acid. For those who want a sheer and less intense look, the LV Baume shades offer deep hydration because of the shea butter base.

Pat McGrath worked in collaboration with Louis Vuitton master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud to create lipsticks that carry a scent that is a blend of mimosa, jasmine and rose, while the lip balms emit a scent of mint and raspberry.
For the eyes, the LV Ombres eye palettes come in eight four-colour combinations, which are all housed in refillable compacts. Designed to blend seamlessly into the skin, the formula contains pigments in its purest form, light up technology for maximum shine, plant derived squalane for second-skin comfort and camelina flower oil extract for a comfortable texture.
“The eyeshadows really set the tone for La Beauté Louis Vuitton – they are bold, intentional, and made to be remembered,” explained McGrath.
The formulas are all the brainchild of makeup extraordinaire Pat McGrath – who pioneered foil and holographic shadows in her own brand, Pat McGrath Labs – with each product crafted to be an object of desire. Designed to be held, treasured, and worn, this collection reimagines make-up as ritual and artifact.

But that is not all, taking inspiration from Louis Vuitton’s extensive history of designing bespoke trunks, a bunch of leather goods will also debut with the collection. Think mini logo bags to house lipsticks and balms, cases to hold makeup products and limited edition pouches to hold a beauty wardrobe. There is also a vanity trunk that acts as a makeup station of its own.
“Make-up is culture. It’s power. It’s presence. And it’s personal. Luxury in make-up is about performance, craftsmanship, and sensoriality. It’s about textures that feel exquisite, colors that captivate, and formulas that perform flawlessly,” said Pat McGrath of the ethos behind the products.
“True luxury is when every detail is considered — from the way the pigment melts into the skin to the way a lipstick feels in your hand. It’s the fusion of artistry and technology, of heritage and innovation.
“We’ve made something heirloom-worthy. Iconic. Bold. And unforgettable,” she added.
