Louis Vuitton announces debut beauty collection with Pat McGrath

Louis Vuitton has unveiled its first ever beauty collection, with visionary makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath serving as creative director

After conquering the world of high fashion, watches, Formula 1 and more, the brand is now foraying into the world of beauty with its first ever makeup collection: La Beauté Louis Vuitton. The best part? Visionary makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath, DBE is serving as the brand’s creative director for cosmetics.

Debuting in autumn 2025, the collection will be rooted in the spirit of travel and excellence, in line with Louis Vuitton’s brand ethos. Details are limited, but the collection is said to “reflect the broadening scope of luxury”. 

Pat McGrath, who is often hailed as one of the most influential makeup artists to date, will bring her incomparable eye and expertise to developing a lifestyle beauty experience that extends beyond products. A member of the Order of the British Empire since 2014, she became the first and only makeup artist ever to receive the title of Dame in 2021 from Queen Elizabeth II.

“Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, which is the result of extraordinary craftmanship, creativity and innovation,” she said.

“The beauty universe is about so much more than just products, and what we are creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty,” she added.

This move towards beauty has been a long time coming, and as Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton points out, is the natural evolution of the brand.

Since its founding, Louis Vuitton’s travel history has embraced beauty, with innovative vanity cases specially crafted for the transport of delicate toiletries, perfumes and cosmetics. In the 1920s, Louis Vuitton designed luxurious powder compacts, brushes and mirrors. Moreover, the first Louis Vuitton handbags for women were conceived with the need to carry daily essentials, including cosmetics.

One thing is certain: as Louis Vuitton enters the beauty market, especially Pat McGrath at the helm, this is one launch you wouldn’t want to miss.
