Lewis Hamilton launches non alcoholic Almave tequila in the UK

After conquering the world of Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton has now set his sights on non alcoholic tequila, bringing his brand Almave to the UK

Lewis Hamilton AlgaveWe all know Sir Lewis Hamilton as one of the most prolific Formula 1 drivers of this generation. Having won the British Grand Prix in July to end a 2 year drought, Hamilton has now set his sights on non alcoholic tequila. Specifically, launching his brand Almave Blue Agave Spirit in the UK.

Created in collaboration with Iván Saldaña, master distiller at Mexican spirits group Casa Lumbre, this brand is the result of Hamilton’s quest for finding a non-alcoholic alternative to tequila — his drink of choice — that more authentically captured the spirit of blue agave.

There are two expressions: the Almave Amber, and the newly launched Almave Blanco. The former, which was initially launched exclusively on the brand’s website, is perfect for sipping on the rocks or in a spirit forward cocktail, capturing the flavours of blue agave with tasting notes of caramel and toasted wood.

Almave is also the first non-alcoholic spirit to use the blue agave plant harvested in the highlands of Los Altos, Jalisco, and distilled using the same traditional process as tequila, including cooking the agave in brick ovens, and distilling in copper pot stills.

Speaking of the new launch, Lewis Hamilton expressed his excitement at bringing a non-alcoholic spirit to the UK.

His business partner, Iván Saldaña, master distiller at Casa Lumbre says that the spirit showcases the endless possibilities of blue agave distillation.

“We believe we have once again redefined what is possible with the distillation of blue agave, maintaining the true production and craft of age-old Mexican traditions for making Tequila, and we’re incredibly excited to bring our country and traditions to more places around the world,” he added.
