The partnership brings together two worlds of craftsmanship – whisky and couture – with Johnnie Walker continuing to honour its commitment of collaborating with visionary cultural voices who push boundaries and redefine modern luxury. The brand previously similarly collaborated with Indian couturier Rahul Mishra on a limited edition design for the 2025 festive season.

Speaking about the collaboration, Robert emphasised the importance of pushing boundaries in storytelling and the ‘incredibly rewarding’ experience of working with the brand.

Being able to work with Johnnie Walker – a brand with such legacy and a strong identity – has been incredibly rewarding,” said Robert.

“Pushing boundaries is integral to storytelling, and that’s how I approach my work: How can I go further? How can I bring magic to the collaboration? Where will the chemistry take us? For the Year of the Horse, this connection felt especially meaningful – the horse charges forward, symbolising optimism and a relentless drive to push boundaries,” he added.

Inspired by the horse’s auspicious spirit and the layered flavours of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Robert’s limited-edition design reimagines Lunar New Year with a modern lens in a tribute to artistry and the pioneering craft of rare whisky making.

Crafted from whiskies aged for at least 21 years using a rare three-stage process, XR21 is smooth and indulgent with layers of honey, spice, tropical fruits, and a warm, lingering finish.

This partnership is more than just an exclusive design for the brand. Robert also debuted three couture designs at his haute couture spring/summer show in Paris that are inspired by his collaboration with Johnnie Walker and the Year of the Horse. Each look captures ‘the essence of courage needed to move forward’, reflecting the spirit of progress at the heart of Johnnie Walker.

Both the Johnnie Walker Blue Label and John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old Lunar New Year Limited Edition designs are now available in selected markets globally.
