Jeremy Scott kicks off London Fashion Week S/S18 in unique style

What to expect from London Fashion Week’s runway shows and star-studded parties
Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott launched London Fashion Week’s Spring/Spring 2018 collections with a star-studded party on Thursday at London’s Café de Paris, to celebrate his new collaboration with shoe brand UGG. The party marked the start of the capital’s fashion festival, following New York Fashion Week and preceding Paris and Milan.
Models including Lottie Moss, Jasmine Sanders and Lilah Parson were in attendance, enjoying DJ sets by Neneh Cherry, LOVERBOY designer Charles Jeffrey and singer Rina Sawayama. Guests at the event, which was co-hosted by i-D magazine, sipped Cîroc cocktails as they partied well into the small hours, setting the tone for LFW, which is often considered the most daring and contemporary fashion events of the season.
Elsewhere in the capital, the British Fashion Council hosted their own opening night party at the LFW headquarters at 180 Strand, where many of the biggest designer shows will take place over the four days of non-stop catwalk events and parties from 15 September. The biggest British brands will be showing their Spring/Summer 2018 collections during the event, and international brands will show their most daring collections.
Friday will see presentations by Xiao Li and Shrimps, and runway shows by the likes of Ralph & Russo, Pam Hogg, Amanda Wakeley and Joshua Kane’s Fantasy event, before a UK launch of COUTURISSIMO and the Asian Couture Federation. Saturday – always one of the biggest days of the showcase – will see designers including Alice Archer, Emma Charles, Markus Lupfer, Simone Rocha and Burberry showcase their news collections, before parties hosted by Jiri Kalfar or Stories from Morocco.
Preen, Anya Hindmarch, Rolan Mouret, Temperley London and Emporio Armani are among Sunday’s designer events, with the latter hosting a party that evening to celebrate the relaunch of its London flagship store. Armani are also partnering with the BFC to support up and coming designers, so expect to see plenty of excitement around the brand’s London events this year.
There’s no winding down after the weekend’s events with some of the most colourful and quirky designers taking the runway on Monday. Ashish follows up his American-themed A/W17 show, while Julien Macdonald, Stephen Webster x Thames London and Emilia Wickstead also have their showcases. Tuesday’s finale will see Emilio de la Morena, Alexander White and Tata Naka take centre stage, while Tommy Hilfiger may once again include model Gigi Hadid in his catwalk line up.
