Introducing the XOR: an innovative mobile phone brand designed to keep users safe

Tempus explore the luxury mobile brand who are bringing safety, reliability and discretion to the forefront of their designs
Born from a desire to create a secure mobile phone that is aesthetically pleasing and packed with sophisticated technology, XOR is an English start-up communications company that launched on November 10 – and is already breaking the boundaries of the luxury technology sector.
Designed with ‘looking after the user at its heart’ these functional handsets are the vision of former Vertu employees and entrepreneurs who recognised the need for beautiful phones that offered unbreakable protection.
Built by a team of mobile technology experts, the XOR features hardware encryption that allows XOR users to exchange messages using end-to-end encryption through a unique contact system, and a series of one-time passcodes. >>
All private information, including contacts and SMS are encrypted by a highly secure hardware-based Advanced Encryption System algorithm.
Surrey based co-owner and head of design, Hutch Hutchison – who was the former design chief at Vertu – has been responsible for creating the elegant look of the mobile phone, which aims to combine precision engineering with ergonomic design. Prior to working with XOR, Hutchison spent 40 years devoted to a love of what he calls 'engineering art’.
Hutchison says: “Trust and security are at the heart of XOR, from our bold shield knot logo which is an ancient symbol of warding and protection, to the name itself, a logic gate used in the algorithm that encrypt your speech and text."
Working from its workshop in England, XOR use robust materials throughout its designs, including, titanium, ceramic, sapphire crystal and fine leather.
XOR aims to release the first product reveal in the first quarter of 2021.
