From Beyoncé finally winning Album of the Year to stellar performances by Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, here are all the big moments from Grammys 2025
Music’s biggest night — the 67th Annual Grammy Awards — took place on Sunday, 2 February, where the Recording Academy awarded Grammys to artists like Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Doechii and more. The 2025 Grammys also brought out the Los Angeles Fire Department to honour their dedicated efforts to curbing the fires raging in the county.
From stellar performances and big wins to heartfelt tributes and inspiring speeches, here are all the biggest moments from the 2025 Grammys.BEYONCÉ, KENDRICK LAMAR TAKE HOME TOP AWARDS
Beyoncé has won many awards in her storied career, but Album of the Year was one award that had always eluded her. That changed on Sunday as the genre-bending artist finally won the coveted award for her hit country album Cowboy Carter. This makes her the first Black woman to win this award in 26 years, since Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. This is also the first country album to win since Kasey Musgrave’s Golden Hour.
Beyoncé also won Best Country Album — presented to her by fellow genre-bender Taylor Swift — and Best Country Duo/Group Performance, which she won for her collaboration with Miley Cyrus on ‘II MOST WANTED’. This brought her Grammy awards tally to 35, extending her record as the most awarded artist in Grammys history. This also made Beyoncé the only woman in history to have won Grammys in five different genres: rap, pop, R&B, dance/electronic and country.

Another celebrated winner of the night was Kendrick Lamar, who took home all the five Grammys he was nominated for including Song of the Year, Best Rap Song and Record of the Year for his hit Drake diss track ‘Not Like Us’. It is only the second rap song to win Record of the Year — the first one being Childish Gambino’s ‘This is America’ in 2019.
Kendrick dedicated his win to the city of Los Angeles, his hometown, which was recently ravaged by devastating wildfires. “We’re gonna dedicate this one to the city,” he said. “Compton, Long Beach, Inglewood, Hollywood, out to the valley…this is my neck of the woods that held me down since a young pup.”INSPIRING SPEECHES AND CHAMPIONING IMPORTANT CAUSES
The Grammys could not have gone on without addressing the Los Angeles wildfires and the tireless efforts of the firefighters and first responders who risked their lives to save the city. The Los Angeles Fire Department were the guests of honour at the event, presenting the biggest award of the night to Beyoncé. Many winners and performers alluded to the devastation on stage, thanking the firefighters for their dedication to stopping the fires.
Beyond the fires, artists like Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan and Doechii all took a moment in their respective winners’ speeches to champion for important rights and causes. Chappell Roan made sure to advocate for equitable pay and conditions for artists in the music industry, imploring record labels to have artists’s backs.

Lady Gaga, meanwhile, was among the many artists who stood up for the LGBTQ+ community, after US president Donald Trump banned diversity, equity and inclusion and recognised only two genders, posing a threat to transgender rights. Rap newcomer Doechii, who became only the third woman to have won the Best Rap Album category since Lauryn Hill and Cardi B, delivered an inspiring speech to Black women and girls about how anything is possible.
“Don’t allow anybody to project any stereotypes on you [or] tell you that you can’t be here, that you’re too dark, or that you’re not smart enough, or that you’re too dramatic or you’re too loud,” she said. “You are exactly who you need to be to be right where you are and I am a testimony.”HEARTFELT TRIBUTES AND ELECTRIFYING PERFORMANCES
Alicia Keys was awarded the lifetime achievement award. Meanwhile, the ceremony featured a lengthy tribute to music legend Quincy Jones, who passed away in 2024. Will Smith, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, pianist Herbie Hancock, Janelle Monae and Stevie Wonder all delivered tributes to the legend.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin soundtracked an emotional tribute to the artists we lost in 2024, including One Direction alum Liam Payne, by performing “All My Love”.

Sabrina Carpenter, who took home two Grammys at the 2025 ceremony for her album Short n’ Sweet and her record smashing hit song ‘Espresso’, made her performance debut at the ceremony by performing a mashup of ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please Please Please’. Doechii, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX and Shakira also delivered some electrifying performances at the ceremony.
