Flying Vietnam Airlines' new take on jet lag-free business travel
Take a sneak peek inside the award-winning Asia Pacific airline’s innovative business class offering
As Vietnam becomes an increasingly popular destination for luxury travellers, its home-grown airline has followed suit. Vietnam Airlines has upped its business class offering, with an excellent benefits both on-board and on the ground. Whether flying for work or travelling to one of the country’s new high-end hotels, the airline’s top-tier service can get you there in style.
Vietnam Airlines flies a fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, each with 28 business class seats arranged in a herringbone configuration for increased privacy. Interiors ensure a comfortable and jet lag-free journey through the addition of extra high ceilings, large windows with dimmable lighting, calming caramel, cream and teal aesthetics, and optional humidity (designed to make air feel as close to ground-like as possible).
While on-board, passengers have access to state-of-the-art technology including 15.4” fully HD touch screen TVs filled with up-to-date entertainment, and noise cancelling headphones. Cuisine, meanwhile, is top-class. Meals feature a wide variety of Vietnamese and international delicacies and are beautifully presented in three courses with fine tableware.
The launch of the Lotus Lounge is another welcome addition. Open to business class passengers and gold and silver Lotus Miles members, the lounges offer guests a comfortable space in which to relax or conduct business before or between flights, with complimentary cuisine and drinks, high-speed WiFi, computers, and more.
Vietnam Airlines was recently awarded a SkyTrax 4-star rating, placing it alongside international heavyweights including Emirates and British Airways. Another prestigious accolade bestowed on the airline this year is the CAPA Asia Pacific Airline of the Year, granted at the 2017 CAPA Asia Pacific Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit. It seems the only direction the airline is headed is up.
