The Spa offers discerning guests the perfect pitstop to renew, restore, and reinvigorate
Luxury travel specialists Celebrity Cruises has announced the opening of an opulent spa on board its hero ship Celebrity Edge. The new venture boasts a roster of innovativerelaxation treatments curated by beauty giants Elemis and One Spa World, to the backdrop of cutting-edge design curated by renowned designer and entrepreneur Kelly Hoppen MBE.
Inside the spa, which covers more than 22,000 square feet, each design component is inspired by three elements synonymous with cruise travel – sea, earth and air. “The spa has always been a sacred space to me. I have often dreamt of designing my very own spa and Celebrity Edge proved to be the perfect outlet for living out my dreams,” Hoppen said. “A spa is a place where one goes to relax and be pampered, so for me The Spa had to be neutral in palette and have complementary lighting, evoking a sense of calmness. Every aspect of the design is meaningful to me, from the dramatic crystal installation to the imposing and dramatic, yet Zen sculpture acting as a reception desk.”
Guests can take their pick from more than 124 signature treatments, including the ocean spa wave massage, poultice-powered muscle release, zero gravity wellness massage, and thousand flower detox wrap, to name but a few – as well as the innovative Elemis Biotec facials, which will be offered for the first time on a Celebrity Cruises ship.

Before treatments, guests can recline in the Zen-like Relaxation Lounge and enjoy a unique welcome ritual that ‘prepares the mind, body and spirit for the pampering ahead’. “Our vision for The Spa was the same aspiration we have for Celebrity Edge – to provide our guests with a deeper and more profound connection to the sea” president and Celebrity Cruises CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said. “To start the revolution in relaxation, we turned once again to the visionary Kelly Hoppen to completely transform the spa experience, and develop an atmosphere that soothes the soul from the moment guests walk in.”
The Spa isn’t Hoppen’s first foray into design on board Celebrity Edge, as elsewhere she has also lent her expertise to the suites and The Retreat. The ship will make its first sailing departure from Florida on December 1 2018 and spend its inaugural season sailing alternating seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruise itineraries, before heading to the beautiful vistas of the Mediterranean.
