Watchmaker collaborates with three iconic fellow brands to create new Bucherer BLUE offerings
Swiss watchmaker Bucherer has announced the release of three new pieces under the Bucherer BLUE label, crafted in collaboration with three independent haute horlogerie manufactures.
The pieces, unveiled on 22 September, were created in tandem with Girard Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie and L’Epée respectively. Together with Bucherer these watchmakers have "created unique objects of desire, from wristwatches to a mechanical kinetic sculpture that tells the time", Bucherer says, with each creation limited to only 18 pieces each.
Here, we take a look at the three newest models from Bucherer BLUE:
Girard Perregaux Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges Bucherer BLUE
The Three Flying Bridges Bucherer BLUE is a timepiece "celebrating Girard-Perregaux’s virtuosity through a blue lens", according to Bucherer. The Tourbillon with Three Bridges is considered the world’s oldest watch movement still in production.
The bridges of this iconic design have evolved from an arrow-ended shape to a more contemporary “Neo” shape, used in the Flying Bridges, and the architecture of the movement has also evolved to give the impression of a levitating movement inside the case.
H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE
The H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE is the first Streamliner limited edition manufactured exclusively for a collaborating, created to "celebrate the longstanding collaboration between H. Moser & Cie. and Bucherer", the brand says. The Streamliner collection, which has only been on the market for a short time, combines minimalism and contemporary style for which H. Moser & Cie. has become known.
The integrated steel bracelet, every detail of the individual links and the cushion-shaped case of the Streamliner timepieces "pay tribute to Bucherer BLUE through their bezel with blue baguette-cut sapphires that shine their light on the iconic fumé dial". This is also the first partner edition to feature both a double-hairspring tourbillon movement and a Streamliner case.
L’Epée 1839 Time Fast Bucherer BLUE
The Time Fast x Bucherer BLUE is, according to Bucherer, an "exceptionally crafted kinetic race car sculpture that tells the time", with the two collaborators "united by their desire to be ahead of time and their devotion to manufactural excellence".
The design features a single-seater race car with a 50s classics fluid design; its engine is composed of a tiered movement with an 8-day power reserve, shaped to the bodywork in Bucherer BLUE finish. Furthermore, the mechanical motor is wound like a pull-back toy car.
