Aqua Mekong launches first luxury cruises since pandemic

The brand, known for their highly luxurious vessel, began launching seven night cruises from Phnom Penh in September following a two-year break
Luxury small-ship expedition operator Aqua Expeditions has announced the restart of its Aqua Mekong offering this autumn, following a suspension of the service during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The ultra-exclusive ship, essentially a floating five-star boutique hotel, takes guests on a cultural journey through Cambodia and Vietnam, with regular scheduled departures from Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
Departing in September and October from Cambodia’s Phnom Penh, the ship will undertake a full 7-night expedition — the longest of its three itineraries —sailing south along the Mekong to Vietnam’s vibrant Ho Chi Minh City. This classic expedition itinerary features twice-daily excursions, including mountain bike and tuk-tuk rides, and guided visits to Mekong’s dynamic riverside markets, villages and holy sites.
The 7-night itinerary is also available as a 4- and 3-night sailing; guests on the 3-night Discovery sailing and 4-night roundtrip Explorer sailing set sail from Phnom Penh, experiencing the border crossing between Cambodia and Vietnam before disembarking in Ho Chi Minh City.
Launched in 2014, Aqua Mekong showcases modern architecture and interiors by renowned architect Noor Design. The ship’s 20 suites feature full-length windows that offer spectacular views over the river, while guests embark on an inspiring journey of local flavours with a dining experience crafted by Michelin-starred consulting chef David Thompson in the onboard restaurant.
