Initially scheduled for 2025, Anantara Concorso Roma is ready for a bigger than ever 2026 debut in Rome with a showcase of Italian automotive excellence
The Anantara Concorso Roma was set to be one of the most exciting new car concours debuts of 2025, but due to the death of Pope Francis, the showcase was postponed to 2026. Now, the concours d’elegance is gearing up for an even grander debut with an expanded showfield featuring an impressive collection of Italian automotive icons.
Taking place from 16 to 19 April 2026, the concours will feature an expanded and impressive collection of Italian automotive icons along with the very best in Italian design, lifestyle and hospitality. The event is organised by Anantara Hotels & Resorts, with Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome as the official host hotel and UBS as presenting partner. Richard Mille and Lockton have signed on as event partners.
Some of the cars on display at the concours include the 1902 FIAT type 12/16hp, the 1938 Lancia Astura 4 Serie Tipo 41 Cabriolet, the 1951 Cisitalia 202 SC Gran Sport Cabriolet, the 1956 Alfa Romeo 1900 Zagato and the 1963 Ferrari 275P.
The rescheduled event will boast a larger showfield, extending beyond the original Casina Valadier to encompass the magnificent circular Piazza Bucarest in the gardens of Villa Borghese, creating an even more impressive display setting.
Another highlight of the 2026 programme will be the Grand Palazzo dinner, which will be held at the Palazzo Brancaccio. The noble Roman residence, with its grand architecture, frescoed interiors and sumptuous furnishings, will host a black-tie evening, providing one of the true high points of the weekend.
Speaking about the concours, William E Heinecke, chairman and founder of Minor International, Anantara’s parent company, expressed his excitement for the concours’ debut after the unfortunate postponement.
“After the disappointment of having to postpone the inaugural event earlier this year, the upside, and indeed the irony of the postponement, is that the anticipation is high and people are really excited about the launch event. Anantara Concorso Roma has been attracting more interest than ever from all around the world, with many more car collectors and international VIPs keen to join us in Rome in April 2026,” he said.
“Everybody was hugely supportive of the decision we had to make – especially the local Roman authorities. They respected the fact that it couldn’t have been an easy commercial choice. For the reborn event next April, they have pledged their support and are working with us to ensure that we put on a show that will go some way to addressing the effects of the postponement,” he continued.
Benjamin Cavalli, head of strategic clients and global connectivity at UBS Global Wealth Management, added: “UBS is delighted to remain as the presenting partner of the Anantara Concorso Roma. We are excited to bring the global community together and contribute to the anticipated success of the 2026 event.”
Tickets to Anantara Concorso Roma 2026 are now available for purchase. Also available are VIP packages with VVIP weekend tickets, a stay at Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome, elevated dining experiences and premier access to the event.
