Vico Milano: luxury hideaway to open in Milan in spring
By Tempus | 27 January 2021 | Lifestyle, Travel
Stunning seven-bedroom hotel to offer privacy, exclusivity and bespoke experiences in northern Italian city
With one eye on international travel recommencing, this spring will see the opening of Milan's hottest new hideaway Vico Milano, an ultra-chic boutique guesthouse on the gorgeous Corso Genova.
In a post-pandemic world, small will no doubt be considered beautiful, with an increased demand for privacy and personal space. Neri Baccheschi-Berti, whose family is behind the award-winning renowned Castello di Vicarello in Tuscany, is realising his vision to create a fashionable under-the-radar hangout from which to explore Milan.
The hotel, sporting just seven bedrooms, will be unlike anything else in the city. Overseeing every aspect of the design, Neri has drawn on influences that have inspired him throughout his life and travels. He has personally sourced an extraordinary collection of antiques, the majority of which are Italian but complemented by carefully selected pieces from around the world including Iran and Morocco.
There will also be an eclectic collection of art on display, resulting in a charming and stylish home from home. Guests will have exclusive access to a curated library, comfortable sitting room and a speakeasy-style bar in which the hotel serves it family owned wine and curated cocktails.
Vico Milano is just a short walk to the city's iconic Duomo and the fashionable district of Via Tortona, home to designer showrooms and other luxury shops. The site of the guesthouse was once a factory which designed and produced the legendary Legnano racing bikes, before becoming the studio and showroom for the Baccheschi-Berti family’s fashion brand, Bungai.
Throughout their stay, guests will have access to bespoke experiences based around traditional Milanese food, art and culture, allowing them to depart the city feeling like a local.
Prices at Vico Milano will start from approx. €280 (currently approx. £250) inclusive of breakfast.
