Taj 51 launches stunning new restaurant and bar in central London

The menu at Th@51 Restaurant and Bar, just a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace, will showcase the best of London’s varied culinary influences
Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, located in central London, has kicked off the new year with the launch of TH@51, the stunning new restaurant and bar serving a vast array of intriguing, high-quality dishes.
According to the brand, the menu at TH@51 "reflects London’s myriad culinary influences", with Taj 51 General Manager Mehrnavaz Avari adding: “London is considered the culinary capital of the world and we are delighted to bring TH@51 with its eclectic global flavours in stylish settings in the heart of the London city.”
TH@51 was designed by Conran & Partners and carries a light, airy feel throughout the interior, with a glass dining room, elegant wood cladding and a soft colour palette to match. The kitchen is designed to have an open layout visible to guests, adding an element of theatre to the evening's dining.
Led by Executive Head Chef Sujoy Gupta, who joins TH@51 after spending eight years at the kitchen’s helm of both the Taj Bengal Kolkata and Taj Umaid Bawan Palace, the menu features global dishes which draw inspiration from flavours from around the world, exploring the unexplored to create a food and drink experience that excites all the senses.
Pairing popular flavours from varied cuisines together to create dishes that are recognisable in their differences, the menu is truly unique. TH@51’s food reflects London’s myriad culinary influences, celebrating the finest ingredients and traditions from far flung destinations and those closer to home.
Signature dishes at the new dining spot include burrata and kale chaat, a tofu and orange marmalade bao bun, a Moroccan poke bowl and a paneer wellington, while the bar at TH@51 continues the global theme, with cocktail highlights including the "Breath of Fresh Air", a mix of Ginepraio, pine cordial, swiss herbs, gentian & juniper, elderflower cider, "Genghis’ Yurt", containing Hennessey VS, leather, stout, beer, chocolate, kefir and yolk, and the "Shay Al-Walah", a blend of Zacapa 23, mint tea, karkadè, Moroccan lemon, vegetal milk and date honey.
By using ingredients and flavours found in each delicate ecosystem, as well as utilising textures and smells and sustainable techniques, the innovative drinks list also perfectly complement the explorative bar food offering.
