The Indian couturier, who designed the limited edition Blue Label collaboration, joined Priyanka Chopra Jonas for an intimate panel discussion which dove deep into their Indian heritage and their love for Johnnie Walker whisky.

Both Rahul and Priyanka are globally recognised cultural forces, bringing Indian craft, heritage, modernity and creativity to audiences around the world. The London celebration drew on the conversations they inspire and showcased a new wave of Indian diaspora creatives who are redefining perceptions of Indian creativity.

The discussion explored how artisan craft can thrive in modern luxury, the balance between tradition and innovation in Rahul’s practice, and the role of cultural storytelling in translating textiles and motifs into product design. The two also reflected on representation, the responsibility to platform makers on the global stage, and how Johnnie Walker’s Keep Walking philosophy aligns with ideas of progress, perseverance and community.

“I want to make sure I make the choices that I do, which make my daughter feel proud and inspired. I take decisions very intentionally, keeping in mind the position I find myself in,” she said. “Somebody said to me many years ago: as you take a step forward, turn around and pull someone else up, and pay it forward. I hope that that’s the legacy I’m leaving behind; that I’m paying it forward.”

Speaking about the event, Rahul, who eloquently spoke about championing local artisans and the silent impact of Indian couture worldwide, took a moment to spotlight the many craftspeople who brought the celebration to life.

“I feel profound gratitude to Johnnie Walker Blue Label and to everyone who helped bring our shared vision to life this evening. Translating the language of my atelier into a bottle was the first step; seeing it carried into space, sound and taste at The Dorchester was deeply moving,” said Rahul.
