The former Michelin-starred Nobu London helmsman will be creating a six-course feast at a riverside pavilion in July
Shhh! Keep it to yourself, but Australian-born chef extraordinaire Scott Hallsworth is hosting a four-day pan Asian pop up at one of London’s most exclusive and secluded new hotspots.
The former Michelin-starred Nobu London helmsman will be creating a six-course feast at a secret riverside pavilion on the new island neighbourhood of Goodluck Hope from 14-17 July.
Lucky diners will be treated to unique panoramic views of The O2 arena, the River Thames and Canary Wharf as they tuck into the likes of Singapore chilli crab and avocado wonton ‘bombs’, yellowfin tuna sashimi, beer marinated rib-eye tataki and Kombu roasted black cod.
The four-day extravaganza will pay homage to Hallsworth’s culinary experience inspired by his love of Japanese cuisine, with playful sharing dishes championing explosive smoky, umami flavours.
The founder of the popular Kurobuta restaurants, Hallsworth was the brains behind pan Asian pop up Freak Scene, which is now permanently based in Frith Street, Soho.
“This will be the first time that I’ll be cooking live in a venue for well over a year,” Hallsworth told Tempus online of his new pop up. “And what a venue it’ll be. With clear, iconic views of London, a super cool room and a very Freak Scene vibe, I literally can’t wait!”
Set within the historic Docklands on the site of the former East India Company, Goodluck Hope marks the eastern gateway to London – away from the hustle and bustle yet directly connected to the rest of the metropolis.
This historic island has become home to a growing community of creators and cultural pioneers with flexible and bold communal living spaces in brick and steel that nod to the area’s maritime heritage.
The luxury development is made up of more than 800 apartments spread across nine residential buildings, retail, leisure and the Wharf brewing company.
Tickets for the pan-Asian pop up are £60pp (includes set menu and welcome drink) and are available to purchase here.
