Celebrating British luxury at Walpole Awards 2024

Tempus celebrates the best of British luxury at the 2024 Walpole Awards, held at The Dorchester this year
On Monday, 18 November, the world of luxury industry gathered at The Dorchester in London to celebrate the Walpole British Luxury Awards hosted by actress, playwright and author Zawe Ashton. The awards, created by the UK’s official body for the luxury sector, honoured outstanding crafts and companies as well as those who “define the exciting creativity, innovation and global cultural relevance of Great Britain”.
400 industry creatives, executives and influencers attended the ceremony, with big name guests including Luke Evans, Bianca Saunders, Kunal Nayyar, Harry Lambert, Bianca Jagger, Tinie Tempah, Yomi Adegoke and Gizzi Erskine. 10 awards were given out during the ceremony, including made in the UK, creative collaboration, luxury innovation, sustainable luxury brand of the year and British luxury brand of the year.
The biggest award of the night — British luxury brand of the year — was awarded to Cunard to celebrate its record breaking commercial performance in 2024. The brand was also recognised for its efforts in elevating luxury sea travel through its work on on-board productions with award winning producers and sourcing produce through British artisans.

This move has epitomised luxury on a global scale, with record profits from exports to over 120 countries now being reinvested to ensure a sustainable future for both customers and its UK employees.
Caroline Rush CBE received the cultural & social contribution award for her dedication to elevating British fashion internationally. Her commitment to championing UK designers, nurturing new talent, promoting sustainability and inclusivity, and democratising the industry through initiatives like London Fashion Weekend has made fashion more accessible, making her the perfect candidate for recognition from Walpole.
Jo Malone London received the creative collaboration award for its collaboration with Paddington, which resulted in an innovative global campaign that blended nostalgia and storytelling to captivate new audiences with unique experiences and limited-edition fragrance.

Meanwhile, the game-changer award was presented to clothsurgeon in recognition of the brands’ modern and innovative approach to menswear which merges streetwear and Savile Row tailoring.
The Walpole British Luxury Awards also celebrated The Glenturret Distillery, Araminta Campbell, Richard Brendon, Yinka Ilori MBE, Ruthie Rogers and Sir Michael Craig-Martin CBE RA as award winners at the event.
