Shape of Light: 100 years of photography

Shining a light on the relationship between abstract art and photography – two of the biggest components of the modern art world – the Tate Modern’s newest major show Shape of Light: 100 Years of Photography takes the viewer on a visual journey from the 1910s to the present day. The showcase features a host of stunning spectacles from major contemporary artists such as Barbara Kastan and Thomas Ruff alongside up and coming creatives such as Maya Rochat and Daisuke Yokota, who’ve created pieces especially for the exhibition.

Strazzanti Brunch pop-up

Offering an alternative take on the conventional avocado-heavy brunch, Strazzanti is delivering its trademark slice of Sicilian gastronomy to Italian eaterie Seventeen0Seven, in its new bakery and brunch pop up. Run by Italian sisters Emilia, Nina and Sofia Strazzanti, who have experience at restaurants including Anton Mosimann, The Dorchester Hotel London, and Le Meurice in Paris, the trio showcase their signature cakes and pastries as well as savoury delights including ‘Nonna's Eggs' topped with wild fennel sausage, cheese and chilli – it’s the most sophisticated way to dine this bank holiday.

Every Sunday 2 May - 14 Oct

Actress Charlize Theron, writer Diablo Cody and director Jason Reitman have joined creative forces once again, seven years after their first film Young Adult, for sequel Tully, which delivers a controversial perspective on the dynamics of a modern family. Exhausted mother-of-three Marlo, played by Theron, reluctantly enlists the help of young and inspring au pair Tully, played by Mackenzie Davis, but uses her newly free time to rediscover her pre-parent lifestyle – and creates a unique bond with Tully in the process.

As You Like It

2018 marks 21 years since the Shakespeare’s Globe returned to its Thames-side location, and in celebration the famous venue is presenting the Bard's classic comedy As You Like It as part of its summer 2018 season. With themes of forgiveness and reparation, subverted gender roles, and plenty of satire, this romantic comedy is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

Neverland London

There’s no need to embark on a long journey out of London in order to feel the sand between your toes this bank holiday weekend, as Neverland is bringing the beach right here to Fulham Beach Club in the capital. Immerse yourself in a truly tropical experience with its plethora of coastline themed activities – including a bottomless brunch, prosecco, and bespoke cocktails plus beach-themed workouts – all while basking in the scenic backdrop of pastel beach huts, white sand and cabanas.

Cinco de Mayo at Ella Canta

In ode to Mexico's annual celebration Cinco de Mayo, modern-Mexican restaurant Ella Canta are serving up an exclusive menu championing authentic Mexican cuisine and contemporary cooking techniques, as well as specially paired cocktails made with Casamigos Tequila – the bevarage brand owned by Hollywood's George Clooney. Culinary highlights include maize chalupas topped with salsas, paired with a rosemary and grapefruit Family Paloma cocktail; and mole poblano with emerald green rice and a specially blended margarita. Delicious.
