Anthea Turner is one of TV's best known presenters, starting as the host of Blue Peter and GMTV before a love of interior design and home decoration began to open up new – more luxurious – business avenues for the entrepreneurial star. Her newest venture is the result of this, partnering with holistic lifestyle expert Sarah Jones to create The At Home Box Company.

The subscription-based company considers itself the ultimate goody bag – a monthly box full of unique pieces for your home and wellbeing. Whether that's an elegant painting, natural body lotions, spoons and coasters, or organic candles, each month's box has a seasonal surprise in store.

From December, Anthea will be joining the Tempus team as our new columnist, sharing her interiors tips with our readers and telling us more about the emerging luxury brands who will be sprucing up our homes this season. But first, we sat down with Anthea to discover more about what she has in store for us…

What can we expect from your monthly Tempus column?
For our monthly column in Tempus we will be telling the story of our box each month, giving extra little nuggets of style inspiration we just need to share with you. One of my dear friends always says to me, 'Anthea your taste looks like it should be on the side of a mountain or close to the beach'.

You've always been an interior design aficionado, what are your top tips for keeping your home fresh – particularly throughout different seasons?
I would say the key is to keep your canvas neutral. For me, that means curtains, wool, floor and sofa. Have a neutral colour palette and just enjoy playing with accessories, colours and themes. I would also say try and avoid matchy matchy items!

What inspired you and Sarah to set up the At Home Box Co?
Sarah and I aren’t just business partners, we are great friends that share a very special interest - our homes! With Sarah bringing a Holistic edge and myself on the "how to” approach, it is just the perfect match. We are the only luxury home and lifestyle subscription box, so the opportunity to fill the gap in the market was just too hard to miss. Though without this great partnership, The At Home Box Company simply wouldn’t be here.

How do you compile each box?
For each monthly box we focus on a dedicated theme centred around your home. Though everyone's home is different, we find having a purpose for each box makes it relevant for everyone. Our December box is based on “The spirit of your home”, which is a perfect match in the build up towards Christmas – as Tempus readers will see in our column next.

Who are some of the brands you partner with?
Our partners are so important to us and each have their own story to tell. Every one of our partners is entirely unique, a perfect example is the lovely brand Chuckling Goat. This gorgeous skin collection range is all home made on a quaint goat farm in Wales. They use the goats milk in their products which gives fantastic results. Their company ethos ties in so well with us as a brand and we just can’t get enough. Another partner of ours is the wonderful Rita at La De Da Living. Her gorgeous vintage cutlery is hand stamped with beautiful quotes. A stunning one of a kind keepsake, from a piece of our history. We just love these beautiful stories and so do our subscribers.
